Ciné-Tronn Screen v.3.0.

A much sturdier version of Ciné-Tronn v.1.0. screen. Made from the same 1" EMT pipe that was used in the construction of Mega-Tronn screen frame (Ciné-Tronn v.2.0.). The idea for this screen setup was to have a portable, sturdy, and awesome screen for portable shows. 1" EMT would provide the sturdiness. A homemade screen would also be a return to that DIY feeling. Also I wished to create my first 2.35:1 "CinemaScope" ratio'd screen. Simply because I thought this would be cool. After using this screen one time, I'm torn on keeping the ratio at 2.35:1 or making a few simple changes and having a 16:9 ratio. More on ratios in the ByT Education section!

The center "T" section would later prove difficult to implement

Construction

Measure and cut! A sharp pipe cutter blade makes quick work of EMT pipe cuts. Keep lots of blades on hand though, they wear out after roughly 10 cuts!

Measure. Cut!

So many connectors!

Made a change on the fly. Changed the "tripod" thing to a straight forward 5-way connector. At this point the single center "T" section alread proved an ill design. The screen frame was top-heavy, cumbersome, and "wobbled" with the slightest wind. And that was WITHOUT the screen material!

Sir Wobbles-A-Lot was very grumpy so I fished for ideas on ByT.com and OldAlgebra and ___ suggested I add to stabilizing legs to each end of the frame. Made it like this:

Fixed!

My screen haz FEETZ!

MUCH more stable!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand ACTION!
The end results are still amazing. Quick and easy setup, teardown, and lots of entertainment to be shared!

At parents house. Quick and durty setup

This is that whole screen ratio thing right here in one picture
